What IICRC certification means

The IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) is a non-profit that sets standards for the cleaning and restoration industry, including the S100 standard for carpet cleaning and the S500 standard for water damage restoration. It certifies technicians who pass its courses and exams, and Certified Firms: businesses that employ certified technicians and agree to its requirements for firms. Certification shows training and a commitment to standards; it doesn’t rate a particular job or price. More in what IICRC certification means, and how to check it.

How to check a business yourself

Search the IICRC’s Global Locator on iicrc.org by business name, city or ZIP code, and check that the name, city and phone match. To check an individual technician, ask the business for their name and certification number.
